Opportunities arise in the context of research and development projects, service assignments or student's work (project reports, Bachelor’s and Master's theses).

Research and development projects may be supported by national and European programmes, for example CTI (Commission for Technology and Innovation) or EU projects.

Innovative projects benefit the Swiss economy by promoting its competitiveness. Both established companies and start-ups gain added value from cooperating with the ZHAW, as testified by numerous past projects.

Students work on questions from the world of work in clearly defined contexts. The practicerelated courses of study, involving close supervision by tutors, lead to useful results for companies, which are required to cover administrative costs
