Entrepreneurial basics
In three weeks in of joint seminar weeks in Spiez you will learn to understand and make use of the interfaces between your technical-scientific core area and the economic and social environment.
12 credits are awarded for the general basics.
From the five modules, you can choose 3:
Extended Theoretical Basics
In six modules held centrally in Berne on two days per week (Thursday and Friday) you prepare yourself for your later subject specialisation.
18 credits are awarded for the Extended Theoretical Basics.
From the 11 modules, you can choose 6:

- MSc_T3: Applied Statistics and Mathematics
- MSc_T4: Data Management and Visualisation
- MSc_T5: Environmental Policy and Future Models
- MSc_T6: Socio-cultural and Psychological Aspects of Sustainable Development
- MSc_T7: Biodiversity assessment
- MSc_T8: Comparative Physiology
- MSc_T9: Industrial System Theory
- MSc_T10: Active Natural Substances and Materials
- MSc_T11: Fundamentals of Nanosciences
Specialisation
You attend your subject specialisation in one of the institutes at the ZHAW in Wädenswil. Classes are held three days per week (Monday to Wednesday) and there are also other learning events throughout the week. This part of the course will prepare you for the Master's thesis.
20-30 credits are awarded for the subject specialisation.
There is a choice of 4 specialisations with their corresponding modules:
Master's Thesis
The Master's thesis is worked on in a research group in Wädenswil or externally in a company. Its topic is determined by your selected specialisation and it is designed to examine the knowledge and skills you have acquired through your response to an exemplary and explicit problem.
30-40 credits are awarded for the Master's thesis. The topic of the Master's thesis depends on the current projects in each institute:
